Flite Software is currently working with a number of fluid equipment manufacturers. Electronic catalogues have been produced to select and configure pumps, refrigeration compressors, steam desuperheaters, sprinklers, pipe systems, control valves, etc. Links have been made to existing sales and marketing, resource planning, and product control systems.
With specific regard to pump catalogues and catalogue integration we are working with 2 major pumping groups: Sterling Fluid Systems and Weir Group.

Sterling Fluid Systems

Sterling Fluid Systems consists of various companies including SIHI, SAT, PCU, Labour and Halberg. These companies produce a wide range of Centrifugal Pumps, Vacuum Technology, Filling & Testing Systems and Engineered Systems. The markets served include the Process, Manufacturing, Utilities and Healthcare sectors.
Flite has been working with Sterling since 1995 and during this time we have accomplished the following:
RAPID: Development of a pump selection, configuration, and added-value product selection tool. This product is today used by more than 1100 Sterling employees, pump distributors, and key end-users to specify, configure, and price pumps and added-value accessories.
E-Business Initiative: Flite Software has helped the Sterling group set up an IT Centre in Ireland in order to accomplish their e-business goals. Flite Software negotiated assistance from Irish Development Authorities, found and recruited IT personnel, assisted with hardware and software recommendations, and provided technical and management know-how through the first Intranet projects. Flite continues to advise at director level with regard to future e-commerce strategies, technologies, and implementation plans.

Weir Group is a conglomerate of engineering companies. Both Weir Pumps Ltd and Envirotech fall within the group but operate autonomously. Flite has worked mainly with Weir Pumps Ltd and the Weir-owned Software Services Company. The Weir focus is mainly on streamlining existing processes and in particular the quotation and follow-up system for both engineered and off-the-shelf pump products.
Flite has been working with Weir pumps since 1996 and has accomplished the following:
Glide: Development of a pump selection, configuration and pricing quotation tool. This product is for internal use only. Glide is the main tool used for producing quotes where efficiency data is considered to be extremely sensitive or for high value quotes. The software has several advanced unique features such as detailed shaft deflection, bearing load, efficiency correction and other proprietary calculations that are used to enable quotes to be produced at extreme operating conditions. The software has the flexibility to produce a single page quote or a quote running into several hundred pages.
